Initially launched as a capsule collection in 1993, Pleats Please showcased Issey Miyake's pioneering fabric innovations such as his heat-applied pleating technique and crease-resistant materials. As a child he wished to be an athlete and as such his clothes have an innate freedom of movement and flexibility that shape the contours of the body.
